Remembering Trayvon Martin

This page is in remembrance of Trayvon Martin...
Rest in Paradise!

Moving Forward...
I would like to say this about the verdict.  And keeping to my personal rules of keeping things short and sweet, I will not keep you long.  Now that the verdict has been decided, what are the communities going to do?  I say this because with such acts of injustice being displayed, how can one be persuaded to believe that the government has the best interest of the community in mind?  Time and time again we have seen men, women and children fall at the hands of those sworn to protect us and then leave the conclusion to be handled by those same bloody hands!  Enough is Enough!
If you really want your voice heard about the situation, then understand that you have the power as a citizen of this great nation.  And despite what we think of government officials right now, we have to understand that our votes, or lack thereof, placed those people into their respective offices.  And our voices, no matter how small should be heard.  We have the means, but do we have the courage to stand upon our convictions?  Or do we hide in the corners of the room, expecting a certain someone to speak for us?
A friend of mine placed a post on Facebook asking about the role of the church.  My response to that is that this goes way beyond the church and its capabilities to unite the people.  Everyone is affected by this and it will take a mass unification that transcends race and religion.
But it begins at home...
Talk to your family.  Unite under one course of action.  Then pass it on to your neighbor.  And so on and so forth...
And understand that everyone is not going to agree.  Everyone is not going to want to participate.  But with a consistent effort, the people that really want to do something will usually get it done.

For those that believe rioting will be the best approach to expressing their anger, the LA Riots proved that such course of actions proved to be more negative than positive.  And instead of hearing a people united, they saw chaos and violence.  It's not worth it.

To the family of Trayvon, my condolences.  My prayers are that we find a way to hold your son's name as a reminder that we need each other in the time of need.  That we unite against those who wish to do harm against us.  That we find a way to be there for each other.  Amen.
